The Ministry of Justice submitted a package of laws to the parliament, which increase the responsibility for non-payment of alimony. Now, if alimony is not paid for a year, the amount of debt increases by 20%, two and more years — by 30%. For three years of non-payment, the debt will grow by 50%. This money will go not to the budget, but directly to the child’s account. In addition, debtors will be banned from holding senior positions in the civil service and will not be allowed to participate in elections. Another innovation — the criminal responsibility for evading socially useful works, as well as the seizure of all property and accounts since the emergence of debt. At the same time, the debtor can not be released abroad and deprived of a driver’s license. Thus, the state plans to protect the economic rights of children and increase the social responsibility of parents.
